Education

We have a national education crisis in our country!  Our children deserve to learn and play in a safe environment free from gun violence. Therefore, I support funding for increased security measures at schools to keep our children safe. Furthermore, education decisions regarding our children should be made at the local level, not in Washington, D.C.  Therefore, we must abolish the Department of Education and take those funds to increase teacher pay, hire and train more teachers and teacher assistants to help our students learn how to read, write, do arithmetic and think for themselves. 

 

In addition, we must teach patriotism and love for America and its founding principles again. School curriculums must have objectives and teach skills relevant to the jobs students will have in the future. Not only should parents have a right to choose the best school for their child,  they should also have the right to have a say in what their child is being taught.  Last, we must increase funding for the arts because it is documented that students who participate in the arts do better academically.
